fan has been on all day. closing programs down does nothing, leaving it alone for a while does nothing.

any ideas?

if its out of warranty open and clean the fans - chances are its just dust in the fans and/or around the heatsinks

Dom, sounds like a plan, its not out of warranty, but the screen is fucked, so i need to replace it soon anyway.

Its not really a problem, its just a bit annoying having it whirring away all the time.

buy a can of air duster from maplin and give the fans a good blasting with. will clear all the crap or even get the hoover on it

You shouldn't really put a normal hoover near the insdes of a PC because of static. Can fuck stuff up in there. Blast it with an air line though
