When you register the domain you have the option to opt out of the WHOIS database.

To comply with the Data Protection Act you should be able to have your data removed from the database. No idea how though, and it will take months to do it...

If its a .co.uk you can opt out, your registrant should organise this in the first instance before Nominet get involved.

Generally changes direct with Nominet will incur a fee.
