i just bought a Corsa b SRi of a friend on the cheap due to it being broke so thought i would ask the Guru's inhere to help me with the problem,
I have previously asked on here for Help but i didnt have 1st hhand experience with the problems it is producing.
When i start the Car, Sometimes it will either Rev at 1200RPM / 1000(normal?) or just 200!!Rpm (no throttle respons at these revs either builds uptp 1200 after a minute), if i rev it above 3000rpm it stick at just over 3000rpm and wont go down, although i have figured out that if i put it in gear and find the biting point the revs go down again.
And it definetly doesnt feel as powerful as it should be, infact my Rover 214Si 1.4 8v SOHC 74ps feels more powerfull
Thanks in advance
Benji

Yea 1.4 Sri 16V and its clean as hell, just needs the sideskirt & arch on passenger side refitting and resprayin as they aren't lined up & they are chipped, I know you cant really see it from the pics apart from the 1st one in my album but it is actually white/pink pearl, looks in the flesh.
Anyway, has nobody got any clue what could be wrong with it ?

its likely to be a sensor judging by erratic idle. do you have an engine management light on?

not the end of the world mate
do the paperclip test, read the faultcodes off and then sort your problems out
Read about paperclip test and faultcodes here

Bit of an update
I had boris the local mechanic tow it to his garage today and the fault says its a coil pack (even though i replaced it ) but its probably just wiring to it, so it should be cheaper than forking out for Sensors, I'll Find out the exact problem in a few hours.
Thank you both Aurora & Tekno for the Help & Advice
