you can get solid and hydrolic lifters. hydrolic ones adjust the clearences themselve with hydrolic pressure where as the solid lifters need to be set up with feeler gauges and then shims need to be added to gain the correct cam lobe to follower clearence

it depends really. if ur keeping a relitivly standard engine then i would keep with hydrolic, but if you want to highly tune ur engine and run larey cams then solid follows would be better as they can be shimmed to get precise clearenses.
if ur thinking about this because yours are getting tappy, then there is somewhere a link to a rebuild guide.

oh i dont do rebuilding james lol thats beyond me i will just supply the lifters for anyone that wants to earn money to fit thats capeable
but yea it is cos mine are tappy engine is staying totally bod standard so wanna look after it

just keep to std lifters then. you can get new hydrolic lifters from vaux. i think there about £150?

i can get hydraulic ones for 58 plus vat then get someone to fit you see im not clever enough to fit them

lol. fitting is simple really. you will also need to get a cambelt kit (belt, rollers, tensioner) and poss a waterpump

well im getting my cambelt done on 21st when my m.o,t is due you reckon expensive to get them to fit the lifters if i supply
