Anybody know how to make tappets in a 1.2 8v a bit quieter? As my car is being sold soon, and want to make it a bit less noisy to help me sell it. Obviously I don't want to take the engine to pieces to do it, just a quick fix if possible? By the way, need to get rid of it, as now have a 1.6 16v sport in mint condition.

ok, I will try, but I may have a buyer anyway! Just hope he is serious, I got the car 18 months ago for £570 with 100k on the clock, and have fitted stealth shelf, Corsa C SXI wheels, Momo Steering wheel and painted and detailed dash. All in about £200 quids worth of mods. Oh and now has 115k on the clock. He offered me £400, i said more if he wants those wheels, what do you guys think?

wheels are in ok condition, one has very nasty scrape from the owner of the Corsa C, so I would say around £120? I will post pics 2moz if I can, of the whole car, to see what people think

tighten them, easy enough on a 1.1 fiesta, under the rocker cover

if they are hydraulic, is it possible to use some stuff that halfords sell, I know there is a product they have that is meant to quieten hydraulic tappets and lifters?

They're all hydraulic... 16v ones are differnt to 8v ones... but all corsa's have hydraulic tappets, unless its a mental spec 2.0 on tbs

ok, hopefully this guy will buy it anyway, but he was very naive, he just asked mileage, tax and MOT, and that was it. Not even what engine it was, didnt hear it run as he had gone back in store before i started it. So unfortunately, I doubt he will pay up.
