As per request of Nath.
If you own an Xbox 360 then take part in the poll...

Frozen up in COD3 a few times, but it happened to a mate at exactly the same time (maybe the server?)
Apart from that it's been trouble free

Don't have one. Can't say these red light stories inspire me to shell out £280 for one either

If you took this train of thought when purchasing any piece of electronics equipment you would never buy anything

not really, it does seem to have much more go wrong with it than the average piece of electronics equipment.

I disagree.
Check out AVForums if you don't believe me. I went there before purchasing my Bravia and was horrified with all the horror stories and TVs with weird problems.
Fact is you would have to be quite unlucky for anything to go wrong.
The problem with the old 360s was apparently due to the power supply. The new ones now come with a new vented PSU and people are more educated on how to take care of their consoles.

There will obviously only be a small number overall that are bad.
IIRC though the argument a couple of months ago was that 360's never break and every ps3 just didn't work at all.

Every single person i know has either replaced theres or had problems, so either the shipment to Scotland was all completely faulty or the 360 crew aren't willing to admit their beloved consoles generally do suffer from problems.
Disclaimer;- I have no consoles whatsoever and have no biased views just real life stories.

Mine has been fine except for a couple of crashes. Both my brother and brother in law have had to replace theirs though. The latter was bought on release date so it was an early one.

mine is fine
like john said a small percentage is bound to go, and im sure when the ps3 hits the 10 million sale mark there percentage of faulty consoles will be roughly the same.
and hammer, just because 3 people you know have had faulty 360s it doesnt mean all the 360s in the shipment were faulty

yeah, that wasnt really the point as I know a certain few will always have problems due to the technology being fairly advanced.
It was mainly down to a thread a while back where people were saying that there were no problems with Xbox's as they had now ironed them all out, but there would be with PS3s.
