Well it was about time I re-decorated my bedroom as I was getting bored of the bright red after about 4 years
This is how it looked before:
First thing to do after clearing eveything out of the room was to sand the walls down as they were very rough and I had over 65 holes to fill in before I could start painting
After the sanding was done (took a while) I gave the whole room 2 coats of white to dull down the red and also cover up all the filling I had done.
Once that was done I could start painting it the colours I wanted which were brown and cream, brown on 1 wall and the rest cream.
I bought a new bed from Ikea to match the floor and TV Stand (I'm getting new bedding, don't worry).
Next was to mount my TV to the wall, which was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I would of preferred to hide the cables in the wall but didn't want the hassle so used some PVC trunking instead.
Also you can see my new recessed spotlights in the ceiling in this photo, I went for 6 in the end and they are controlled by a dimmer switch.
I bought some new curtains too to go with the new colour scheme.
And lastly is my new set-up, I went for the Samsung 5.1 surround sound as it matched my TV nicely, sounds great too
And there you have it, my new room! Just thought I'd share it with you all as I'm pretty chuffed with it. Still got a few little things to do like put some pictures up and new bedding etc but they won't take too long.
Hope you all like?! Only problem I have now is where do I put all my DVD's, anyone any ideas?

Thanks, I'm really pleased with it.
The trunking looks a lot better than I thought it would, looks so much neater without the wires showing.
Fee - do you find it quite bassy? As just listening to music quietly the bass it quite loud, should really read the book to see if I can turn it down.

Fair enough, I didn't want to spend that much on a new bed and this one only cost £99 so thought I'd get it.
It does look better with pillows and a duvet on though

Ikea - it's a discontinued unit called Oppli iirc (I've seen it a lot on AV forums etc.)
All my bedroom furniture is Ikea too! Although my room looks like the 'before' pics, very red walls! I don't like them tho.

Nah, that wall is one of the outside walls. I've got 2 plasterboard walls and I wouldn't want to fit my TV to either of them!

got the exact same TV too...what wall mount bracket did you use? Also for the power cable did it need any extending?

I used this one, http://www.theplasmacentre.com/product_details.php?products_id=921&bracket_id=121&menu=left
Its a universal mount, I went for the fixed one but they do a tilt one too. Very happy with it, feels very solid unlike the tiny one Comet tried selling me!
As for the power cable, it didn't need extending. If I was to plug it straight into the plug socket then it would but I use an extension cable that goes behind the TV unit.

you can coonect it so it runs through normal TV, I have on mine..From Cable box to DVD player and select corect option and TV comes through surround, but only 2 speakers and sub not all 5.

I have my Sky box connected to the surround sound by the red and white phone leads so can watch normal TV with the sound through the surround as Mav said but on mine I can have it coming through all 5 speakers and sub. Also having it connected straight from the Sky box means I don't have to have the TV on when I just want to listen to music channels through the surround.
I also have my Xbox 360 connected to it using an optical cable so get Dolby 5.1 when playing that.
