Hey guys, was wondering if you could help me out with making a decision wether or not to modify my Corsa.

It's my first car, so it's only a 1.0 12v Corsa Club which is fine for insurance and fuel economy but it just has no accelleration whatsoever. I don't know wether I should wait until I can afford the insurance on a faster model (1.2 at least) before I do any modifications that'd effect the resale value of the car.

The other option I can think of is doing an engine swap.. but that sounds like a whole load of hassle.

If you can afford the insurance on a bigger engine, it'll be worth doing. You won't get much extra out of a 12volt.

Well my first year (claims free!) of driving is coming up soon, how much do you think it'll drop? (Currently paying £1300 third party with Liverpool Victoria).

Getting really impatient now, weather's getting nicer and there's so many modded cars driving about where I live it's only making things worse!

What kind of mods are you thinking about?

If its subtle exterior, then you can do cheap mods like de-badge, side repeaters, etc.

But I wouldn't look on any mod's for a 1.0 12v engine to be honest.

Best bet for insurance is to call around. It depends on where you live, what you drive etc.

Yeah, looking to do simple things like that but change a lot of the interior. Not really bothered about performance mods (although I'd like a nice backbox and probably an induction kit).

I only want that little bit extra power to enjoy the ride more, not looking into racing about tbh.

Not as much as I'd like but oh well.
Its got standard bodykit but sprayed the same colour as the car as are the mirrors, etc. Its gotta Gsi spoiler, Gsi alloys (Hoping to get the rest of the Gsi kit sometime) clear clusters, clear side repeaters, sunstrip (Yeah, I know thats old hat now, but I still like it) headlight eyebrows, alloy gear knob and handbrake handle, thats about it right now. As soon as I can, I'm gonna get window tints, custom numberplates, big bore exhaust and a proper induction kit (right now all I got is the airbox drilled)
