I am currently downloading Ubuntu. Does anyone here use it?
Do I burn the .iso file to a CD? then I can install it
Do games such as Counter-Strike work on it? and MSN?
Thanks.

you burn the file to disc then boot from it, this will then load up the front end of the OS using whats called a live cd. on the top left of the desktop there is an "install" icon, click this and go through the motions to format your drive if you want you can partition your drive to dual boot, if you have say XP on there now you can partition it so that half of the disc is XP and the other half Ubuntu, you'll get an option of which you want when you turn your machine on
i'm not sure about games, but Linux is far from short of its own IM services, if you click "applications" in the top left of the screen and click "add/remove" it'll give you a list of things you can download and install

I used it for a while, however had issues trying to connect it to my router.
Really easy to use and if you get to grips with the coding you can make it do magic.
Counter-Strike should run, i see no problem. Gaim comes pre installed with it (similar to MSN) so once again can't see why msn wouldnt work
