I wounder if id still get the same gains from one as the cf one.
Cant see them being any different apart from they may get slightly warmer than the cf one.

Yeah, seems a tad exaggerated! Im on the lookout for a decent induction kit but cant justify spending £130 or whatever on the BMC. So looking at the next best thing like Jenko_Sport

It's exactly the same, yes.
Buy a tailored one though, not a universal....

Nope, it gives you more power being made of carbon fibre becaue carbon fibre is magic.

There's a little truth in that though, it does have magic heat insulation properties

May give one of them Forza ones a try
What if i covered it in that carbon fibre sheet stuff from halfords, got to be another 5-10bhp from that alone

the viper has carbon fibre to reflect the heat off the filter so its pure cold air goin into the engine, bmc (cda) make the best filter claims 10bhp.

Vipers can still suffer heat soak due to the aluminium casing which holds the carbon fibre. I used have one and to be fair i wouldnt pay £200 for one, i got mine cheap cheap though

I have had 4 differant filters on my saxo...
k+n pannel
pipercross cone
green cone
and a viper
The viper is by far the best, feels soooo much more responsive, may have something to do with the mods I have though, the noise is very minimal from the engine though

The filter quality may be different. But the main issue is the whole thing surround carbon fibre. Carbon is cheap, and making a cone out of it is not very difficult either. People just seem to believe that carbon is a magical material that demands a high price tag. If the thing was made from fibreglass you wouldn't pay a lot of money for it, however theyare pretty similar materials and share a pretty similar cost in some cases. In fact, it would probably be easier to make the filter from carbon fibre as you could use a pre-preg material that would go in the mould, get vacuum packed and heated. Job done.
