Why can't he get them on?
That's the size you want.
Take them to a proper tyre fitter if your mate can't get them on

I used to fit tyres day in day out. Toyos are amongst the easiest to fit as they're soft.
'Specialising' in one type of tyre is a load of poo too, fitment wise, a tyre is a tyre, with the exception of runflats/van tyres.
Take it anywhere, don't go to the 'specialist' if they ripped you off last time.
(how did they rip you off if you don't mind me asking?)

Mechanics aren't tyre fitters.

Are they brand new tyres?
Sounds like a problem with the rim if the tyre wont inflate and sit on the rim correctly.
This mate of yours is using a proper rim machine to fit the tyres aint he?
I pay £5 per wheel to get a tyre fitted/balanced, and thats with a mobile fitter too, so he comes to me. So thats some example of how much it should cost.

Sorry, but wherever said they won't blow up is obviously run by muppets
If you can get a 175/50 15 to inflate on a 9" rim, it'll work on a 6" with no trouble.
They need one of these -
Some tyres are hard work, but they ALWAYS go on eventually (unless they're like a 145 profile on a 13" wide wheel, obviously )

No im not trying to correct your spelling but, your mate and the place that you have taken it to sound like a complete bunch of helmets.
Why would toyo's be any harder to get on that any other tyre. Other tyres come with rim protectors to you know

rite the local garage managed it and will be paying £5 per tyre to get them on, its just the sidewall that my mate had trouble with they fitted fine its just the sidewall wouldnt sit properly, he inflated them trying to push the sidewall out but was reluctant when he got to 60psi because last time he went over that the tyre popped in his face.
