I love my flat and won’t want a house anytime soon.
I have a balcony, private car parking, and an external store room to store my bike. The building has concrete floors therefore it's not often i hear any noise from anyone else.
Plus, i have no stupid garden.
The hallways are very tidy and cleaned every week, as are the windows. My service charge includes my buildings insurance, internet and external cleaning, maintaing the grassed area around the building and car park etc

Lack of garden, service charge, sharing hallways with neighbours means junk mail gets lashed by the front door not binned by the lazy residents. Limited parking, need to carry shopping up loads of stairs.
Annoying, but I'm glad I made the decision to go for a nice modern slightly smaller apartment than a house which would be larger but older with probably also the same parking problems, probably in a worse area with more crime etc.
There are no houses for apartment money that I would like near me.

Nice if you can get your own front door and some outdoor space, certainly overcomes some of the issues.

Thing with new apartments is that they are ready to move straight in which is nice. What attracts me is security. Depends what you want really.
Ian, a garden is more work I never use mine to be honest. I'd prefer not to have one.

Have lived in on for 3yrs now and really like it. Parking is a big problem for me so its usually walking or trains anywhere. It can also feel a bit small sometimes (although is a fairly large 2 bedroomed one) with the lack of rooms compared to a house.
Other than that though its great, would move into another one (and probably will do soon) sorting out the problems Ive had with this one.

I love my flat, I would prefer my flat in the city centre walking distance away from everything over a house in the suburbs where I have to take a train, taxi or bus to get to anywhere decent....

My apartments are only on a small footprint. So although there are two floors of parking underground it still leaves a fair few without spaces - and as I refused to pay the £20k+ for the space when I moved in Im one of them

Me and Gaz were looking at an apartment last night.
2 Double bedrooms, master with en-suite large living room, fully furnished kitchen and bathroom. One allocated parking space and a seperate garage in a nice estate..
£116,000
Just a pitty we would get the money in time to buy it
Apartments are ideal for young couples etc that cant be arsed with high maintenance etc IMO

Me and my mum are looking at one tomorrow, 2 bed, 3 reception, penthouse apartment on 2 floors, massive rooms (the 2 upstairs combined are 36'5") long, allocated parking, ensuite shower/bathroom on each bedroom and a seperate bathroom and an awesome view over my local pub to the countryside beyond
Must be expensive here as it's loads more than the others in this thread

depends what you class as expensive.
An average spec with a similar size to your round me would start at £500k, going upto well over £1.5m.
A 2 double-bed, one ensuite, decent area, etc. round me costs around £200k+.

South West Northamptonshire.
Rental, there's a similar factory in the next village along, similar properties but no ensuites and not as much living space (2 bed, kitchen diner, average living room, not 36 feet ), £690 a month.

If the £690 on was in the village I'm in, it'd be a little more per month.
This is the one we're looking at tomorrow.
