My mates 360 had 3 red lights a week ago, did the towel trick, and it worked again.
Traded it in with 3 games, paid £30, in return he got a brand new elite with blue dragon, which hes trading in, so pretty much a free elite.
The bastard is in uni atm tho, so I havent seen it in the flesh yet

They do look nice although the only difference is....
- Colour (obv)
- HDMI (although all new 360's have that now anyways...)
- Bigger HDD (Which you could always go out and buy....)

its becasue it he had 3 red lights if you take it back to where you bought it becasue you paid full price for it originally say £299 insted of them giving you a brand new 360 they give you your money back you pay the £30 on top they give you a 360 elite its not a trade in as such more of a straight swop

He traded it in at gamestation I think, but he bought his from comet when they were first out.
He traded it in with 3 games, then paid an extra £30 to get the elite. You get blue dragon free with it, traded that in, £30 back.
Towel trick is when the three red lights come on, you wrap the 360 up in a few towels and leave it running for a while, it suposidly melts the solder or something on the faulty heatsink.
This problem has been sorted on the very new 360s, but apparently some elites are still on the old heatsinks, so might break

Yeah should be fine mate, if its 3 red lights just ring them and they will sort it off the console number. The towel thing is only temporary I think so best to get it sent away and fixed.
