I have a 1.2 sxi 16v 99plate t reg, my engine managment light came on last night i looked through some old threads regarding the paper clip test but am un sure of a) were the fualt plug is? b) what fueling system i have and or how to find out so i can carrry out this test?

Right driving home last night and the EML light came on pulled over turned car on and off still on drove ten minutes maybe more down the road to home got home turned off then back on still on, checked it this morning and its now gone of :-/ looked by my fuse box for the plug and its next to the fuses it has 16 slots but only 6 of them have metal connectors in :-/ a can i do the paper clip test, b is it worth doing it to see why it was on last night?

you cant do the paperclip test on the 1.2 16v, the fault needs to be read using tech 2

tech 2 definatly the one? and were do i get the fault codes from as iv aquired the test machine

Iv got a gunson fault code reader obd 2 or II is this he one to use when i plug in comes up err after reading for a few secounds about 10, also the light will come on then when leave the car off over night get back in and start it its off and wont apear after another couple of hours driving? :-/
