what would be the best exhaust bore for a decat system on a vts with enclosed filter? maybe running 408's later on? 2"? 2.25"? cheers

we use 2.25" on all vts/106 systems.
if you are getting a custom exhaust make sure you ask them for fully flanged joints rather than sleeve joints and tell them not to use the old flanges.

also make sure they use new hangers and t304 tubing. and insist on it being Tig welded rather than Mig.
for a decat system for a VTS we charge £290-300 depending on tailpipe design, they are the easiest system to make as well
