right, what is the yellow wire that comes from the passenger bulkhead and runs down the loom to the ecu?
this was cut when taking the x14xe out and i think it might have something to do with the no spark ?? anyone know??

Ive wired and un wired many engines like this but cant remember having a yellow wire from the passenger side. First thing to check is if there is a spark or not and go from there

It wont run if the x14xe ecu isn't coded to the x16xe transponder and chip. They all need to match

this is the yellow wire, it comes from the passenger bulkhead, it was taped together with a black wire that runs to black plastic thing that knows when the bonnet is down? this thing in pic below \/
this is where it runs, on the old engine that it was cut from, intio the loom and i believe down to the ecu connectors

That pin thing is the bonnet trip switch, for the alarm system.
Nowt do with the engine.
Have you got all the earths connected?
There should be 1/2 near the throttle body, one on the end of the lower inlet, and a couple near the alternator.

so if its for the alarm do you think cutting that means the immobiliser keeps coming on?

I dont see how.
That yellow wire doesn't join the engine loom, it goes to the car loom.
If the ecu light isn't flashing with the ignition on, the immobiliser is off.
