Basically guy before me had both sides of this house, but its been split back into two and this is my porch. The window to the right of it is his window, and if i made the porch to the edge of the pebbledash like its been rendered for it will encroach on his land a bit. He doesn't mind but just wondering if it will cause a problem when he comes to sell his side

you would need to change the deeds to your house and possibly pay him for the land you encroach into. He might be happy with it but a future occupier might be arsey and you'll end up with a boundary dispute

Speak to a solicitor. As above, if he sells and the new owner picks it up you may have to remove it or buy the land at some extortionate rate.

why go to the bother extending the porch by about 10"?? What are you going to use that extra space for?

i've bought the house as it is there in pics. i just thought cos the render and flashing is all there ready for a bigger porch and you will be able to see if you patch it up with chippings

i see what you are saying.... but how usefull is a porch ?!
It'll prob make the house look better from the front with the peak etc....
depending on cost it maybe be worthwhile

yeah i know what you mean, it would be more for visual than anything, with an apex roof on it would look more central to the windows

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to cover up the area where the original porch was?

yes but you will probably be able to tell where its been blended in so thought maybe may aswell do it
