What does everyone pay as rent? (living with parents or friends etc)
What percentage of what you earn is rent?
What does the rent cover? (meals, washing, bills etc..)

Im 17, my mum says she only wants rent when i get a full time/proper job.

She took £15 a week of my sister when she was an apprentice hairdresser.
So i'd expect the same if i become an apprentice.

That coveres, food, clothes washed, all bills.

I'm 22 and have to start paying now I'm out of college and working fulltime, £40 a week seems fair to me, I pay the home phone bill on Direct Debit which is ~£70 a month.

When I was at home meant to be £20 a week but most of the time never bothered paying it as parents never really chased it. was more when my dad need £20 for fuel and could not be bothered to go to the cash point in the morning.

Now $1900 around 70% of what I earn on a bad month.

Im at uni, basic rent of £265 a month x3 (3 of us living here) - includes Gas, water and electricity, all maintenance (fixing wiring, boiler problems etc) and furnished but because the aerial on the roof is SOOOO old we only get channels 1-4

Extras we have on top, split 3 ways - TV licence (£45 each), internet+phoneline (£12 a month each) i think thats it

This doesnt include washing (either dishes or clothes ) which I do, doesnt include any food or meals or anything else listed there

My rent represents pretty much 100% of my part time income, leaving my student loan to pay for other things

If i was at home working, my mum would be taking 20% of whatever I earned every month as rent but that would include pretty much everything

So my rent a month works out to be £280 amonth
