My wireless modem and USB wireless adapter are connected together - but it says there is limited or no connectivity.

It says it cant assign network address - I get an physical, IP address and subnet mask but no default or DNS Server.

If I run a connectivity test, it finds an IP but cant get a default gateway.

Any ideas before I give up?

I have no idea how I configure the BT 2500v Wireless router.

What is the ip address it has.

Are you sure you are using the correct network key, sounds like the sort or problem that causes tbh.

ah yes thats not a dhcp assigned address, its one that microsoft defaults to if it cant pick one up, you need to configure your router to issue dhcp or set a static ip to match your routers scheme

Thats an APIPA address, it sounds like its a problem with the network key possibly.

Turn everything off and back on,
delete any current wireless connections, let the computer detect the router again, put that key in, see what happens.
