There are two ways to approach this: flexible spray underseal, which sets to a semi hard tar-like substance, and Waxoyl, a liquid which is sprayed on and the carrier liquid evaporates leaving a waxy residue.
Personally, I'd use both, the underseal on large panels like under the floor pan etc, and Waxoyl inside panels like the sills, the boot lid, inside the wings BEHIND the liners, the front panel behind the bumper etc.
Take advice from a bodyshop too, but don't expect to stop ALL rsut unless it's a VERY modern shell.
