If I could get the rear calipers, discs and carriers from a Cavy SRi, would I be able to put them onto my corsa using these plates?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Nova-Corsa-Tigra-rear-disc-plates-c20xe-c20let_W0QQitemZ270202152732QQihZ017QQcategoryZ43120QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Many thanks

tbh it's a waste of time.the rear brakes are only roughly 25% of your braking power.and if you ask me that's still too much.

I looked into it and it wasn't worth it.

But in answer to your original question, they don't look like they would.

Plus why would they be specifically for a C20XE or LET. What's the engine got to do with the rear beam..

But I'm fairly sure the 4 holes are just a square, all equal lengths apart. I don't remember it being that funny shape.

Take the rear wheel off, look behind the drum, there are 4 bolts there, look at the distance between the bolts, I'm sure it won't match that plate

If they don't line up what would I need to fit them?

personally wouldnt bother doing it oliver, I prefer corsas to have virtually no braking on the rear. feel a lot more stable that way as short wheel
base cars tend to squirm a bit under braking with OTT rear brakes.

maybe worth doing if you plan to fit rear bias adjusters but that defeats the object of fitting them in the 1st place.

they look the same as theese ones. http://www.chrisastleymotorsport.com/product_info.php?products_id=2497&osCsid=103479ea0c77d2d8c0ee8d32ede2a36c .if they are then they will line up.but they need welding on.

I prefer having some braking effort to the rear because doing so improves my pedal feel. Taking the rear brake spring off just messed the pedal feel up. But after putting it back on for the MOT it made things feel nicer and seemed to stop a fair bit faster aswell. Thats the reason for rear discs, aswell as the looks part.

IIRC you have to make up a plate yourself

you get the plates and weld them on. the holes have to be redrilled. i never really fancied rear discs but i got an axle ready done. it does get a bit giddy if you slam on hard from 60-70+ but i like it it keeps me on my toes i just backed the ajduster right off. when my spring broke it felt crap so i wouldnt take it off

Its a hard choice with the rear spring . Have it on and it could spin you into a dry stone wall, or have it off and braking is crap.

not really i give my car a lot of abuse and ive not had a problem with it yet. pedal feels a lot firmer than drums just feels smoother braking so long as you dont drive like a cock and go steaming into corners hard on the brakes then your ok. if i would of done it 2 years ago i reckon i would of lost it by now as i drove like a spaz
