Ive got 5 windows to replace, none are too big, largest ones roughly 1.5x1.5M, then 2 are around 1.5x0.5M & 2 are 1.5 x .25 M *all approx sizes.
Not after anything fancy infact the more basic & plain (cheap within reason - I know you get what you pay for!) the better.
Anyone have any experience in this sort of thing? I was thinking £500 a window as an average wouldnt be too far off the mark?

Yeah im going to, I just want to be prepared for the hit 
I really need them done, trouble is im going to be moving in a year or so.........so on that note I dont want to be paying out loads to not get the benifit of them for all that long & maybe not scrape back what I put out.
They do need done though, its double glazing atm but there wooden frames & not been maintained at all by looks of them, ive already decided to have them replaced.
Will I get a better deal if I bought them now apposed to spring time? Im not sure if this business of window fitting is seasonal or what - might get a better price if therte quiet!?

Isa highly recommends Redhot Windows in Blackburn  They done ours, grans, Auntie Dots, Auntie Moira's and Auntie Betty's

I'll give them a bell aswell then. Im going to phone the crowd that done my new door & S&S windows aswell - they done next door to mum & dads & they look very good!!

we had new windee's, doors and building work done (adding an dexternal door, and replacing a door with a window).
Came out at 7.5k for the lot.
Think it was 6.5k or so without labour/granite/builders/lentils/coins etc
take off 700 for the door.
so say a round figure of 6k for 6 windows. The front living room is a large triple window's bay window. All front windows are sash and case, rears tilt and slide

oh and that was by far the cheapest quote, including the extra building work.
Other companies were quoting 14k or so

Sounds expensive Adam But then ive no large feature window or anything there all pretty small, im hopping £2.5k should cover them.

You should be able to get them for £400 - £500 per window fitted. From experience, avoid the big companies and get a local glazier or joiner to do them. Although for that size fitting them yourself isn't all that difficult.

if your after doing it on the cheap why not use your exsisting glass? just get some new frames made up then when they rip your old windows out get them to keep the glass, stick it in the new frames,
I know of companys round here that do it

Nah im just wanting some crowd to come in & do the job in a day no fucking about. Ive not got the time nor the patience to do any of that.

A window 2m x 1.2 maybe, would cost you £250-300 supplied so i think £400 each is a rough figure for each window fitted.

There isn't a lot to fitting windows in all honesty. The most important bit is measuring the fookers properly ! I'm not saying all the small buisnesses are best for doing it just because I work for one , but the larger companies are in there to get the job done asap and maybe not to the highest standard so be careful who you choose !
Also with the cheaper doors and windows , I have seen ones where you can put one hand at the top of the door and the other at the bottom and bent it like bloody rubber !

i had 13 windows various sizes replaced with PVC ones for £4045 fitted + 9 months interest free credit
I got 3 quotes that varied up to 10k.
Shop around is best advise.

Thats good, I only need 5, was that a big company or small one?
Im not too fussed with quality as im not planning on staying here much longer, gonna do the windeys before I sell though!

i paid £255 for this one fitted
and £10 for the window board on the inside
I knew I could get windows cheap but I thought they were only about £300 anyways lol
its a quite large kitchen window too, with easy clean hinges and vents

would look good with all 4 openng outwards, but tha was £60 more
plus all the windows on the back match, so thats £120 more in total and wasnt paying that
