ive only ever had a de-cat on my saxo vtr and i noticed quite a difference even when i went for a straight threw system. a mate of mine had a hollow cat on his gsi and he said when he fitted a new cat he did notice a difference.
the only problem i have is having the 4 into 1 manifold ive had a reducer welded onto the cat to make it bigger so it connects to the manifold.
think if i get one i mite go back to a standard manifold.

I feel it's more at the top end. When it was time for MOT, driving around, i couldn't redline in 2nd, where as with out the cat it'll redline in 4th or 5th very easy.

would i be better off doing away with the 4 into 1 manifold if i get a de-cat?

Noooooooooo
Keep that on.
I has a protec 4-1, Decat, standard middle, then a bigger BB.
On the rollers it made 114.4 BHP.
Even then i could just about get past my mate who has a C2 VTS.
Then stick a mantzel on it and it now has 125.2 BHP.

im having problems with the lamber sensor on the manifold, the one onit has got wet (due to where it plugs into the manifold it is where the cat joins the manifold) and the standard sensor doesnt seem to work.

Must be.
It would redline in 2nd if i held it in that gear for long enough. But without the cat i could just do it in 4th for poops and giggles all day long.

It's should do it in all but 5th regardless of if it has a cat.

Naa, mine wouldn't.
Pre inlet, without the cat. It'd redline 5th.

I'd do it
Didn't notice alot of difference on mine, but like steve said, the revs pulled round to the limiter easier than before.
