Does it let you extract it to a drive thats formatted in ntfs?

FAT32 has a file size limit of 4gig.

Not much reason to have any drive over 32 gb formatted as fat now anyway.

i cant reformat now as the drive is 500gb and has 300gb of data

Just run the command:

convert X: /fs:ntfs

Start > Run > cmd (replacing X: with the drive letter of your choice obviously)

got it all now, says i need to clean disk first
so im doing that and its taking FOOOOOOOOOOREVER
