How do you check what body type you've got on the Corsa b? Is it a rule of thumb thing for example by year of manufacture? Or specifics to check?

Apparently, when doing an engine conversion there are 2 body types stated for the corsa b. And i'm wondering which mine is, its a P reg Corsa Sport with no power steering.

body type 1 a think mate body type 2 starts on late 98 cud be rong tho

type a: the mount will bolt from the bottom of the inner flitch
type b: will have fouf bolts that bolt in to the flitch and the rubber mount will reccess into the inner flitch,
this is the offside engine to chasis mount you need to be checking

correct me if this is wrong but I was told.....
type 1 is 8 valve ie...1.2 8valve and
type 2 is multi valve ie....1.0 12 valve
as the looms and fuel systems are different.

personally that would make sense to me but since when did engineering start making sense?

Torsa G is right, its just a different offside mount. The mounts are different between power steering and non power steering/ air con models and not by the year

Type 1 is no pas or 16v engine, 8v shell.
type 2 is 16v engine, or 8v with pas etc

this is a type one engine bay
no pas and an 8v engine

Any ideas what mine would be pal? I am confused 2 fuck! Its a 1996 P reg corsa sport....started as a 1.4 now a 1.6 but doesnt have PAS or ABS.

if it's a sport, will be a 16v, therefore it will be a type 2 shell
