i have an astra 1.6 16v and on a run today of 10 miles the car lost power and the eml came on. came to a roundabout and it cut out.. and struggled to start.. got to my desternation and left for few hours to cool down. came back to the car and again it struggled to start and was idleing at about 500 rpm and realy lumpy on the verge of cutting out. drove home with the eml light on and was very underpowered.. any ideas...?????

dont think its the alternator as the battery light still go,s out and its not losing charge.. as for the coil pack im not sure. as it still revs up ok and is sparking wel . just a bit underpowered.

problem sorted. took the car to vauxhall and for a few beer tokens they pluged it in for me.. turns out the erg valve was jamed open.. took it off and cleaned it up. and now runs fine
