take the roof skin off and undo the nut

i know that, i mean will i get away with just tryint to take the rear bits the hold the roof skin up, and then trying to undo the bolt, but i think its been replaced in the past and im unsure ifs even standard?

the new ariel says it fits over any original ariel base ??

be careful doing that, the roof lining is very fragile by all accounts and any creasing will never come out

Try fitting it over then, only snag you might hit is the wiring

unclip the rear of the roof lining and use a ring spanner carefully mate.then replace the old with new.Just be carefull not to crease the lining! its all about slow and carefull not going at it like a mad man!!

your car was the first car i saw it one, and i really liked it, so i snpped mine the other day by accident, and got one for 9.90 posted, i just hope the current one is actually held on by a bolt and not glue cos thatll be a waste of time

they do feel like they are stuck on by glue but its a pretty big bolt.I think around an 18mm.But they aint glued on at the factory mate.

I changed mine bu opening the boot and pulling down the linin. My impatient approach left me with a creased roof lining so be carefull.
