as you can see the passenger side is higher. The headlight on that side is a bit loose, its never fit properly on the car while i have had it. I've tried messing about with it but i dont think its adjustable without pulling it all apart

loose headlight will fail. try sticking something under the headlight to stop it moving and make it appear a tight fit. that should pass the MOT if its hidden well and then you can sort it out after

Beam pattern looks ok to me, but if its loose, it will fail.

If you jam something in to stop it moving, and the beam pattern stays like that, id imagine it will pass.

IIRC the left hand headlamp is meant to aim higher anyway.

Measure the distance from the floor to the centre of the headlight and adjust them both to this height on the wall. Should be some allen key adjusters or something to adjust it.Also secure the headlight somehow and it should pass.

If you can't tighten the light, can the beam not just be adjusted on the day to pass?

/\ Yes, but the lamp has to be secure to pass so the beam cant "bounce about" as the light moves over bumps etc.
