Hi ppl,
I have just bought a Corsa Sport 1.4 16v with a snapped cambelt. It has bent all 16 valves and i am getting a new waterpump etc cambelt kit, head gasket the job lot really. How much roughly would you think for it all doing including labour?

£500- £600 is a rough price id guess.
Id do it yourself its not that hard really.

if you dont know alot about stripping engines, this is not the best one to start on by far

I am glad you said that. I work in a garage on a weekend and the mechanic there is doing it, but tbh he is a prick. He has nearly done it and told me it was £500 which i think is quite expensive. If i had of know i would of just purchased a second hand engine and put it in myself

It is exspensive for what it is tbh.
But £500 is what most garages charge.
next time you know just to swop the engine.

Yeah well it just confimrs that he is a twat, he ripped me off last year for some work on the Pulsar but i will just get it back when he wants something painting. Thanks for the replies ppl

Where abouts are you based mate? It also depends if the head has been damaged

Leeds m8 and no it just bent the valves no cracks in the head etc
