Used my car today, started it no problems and ran without a worry.
Stopped at the shop on the way home, then it wouldn't start again. All the dash lights were on, but as soon as I turned the key they would all go out, no power at all.
Interior light still worked, but very dimly. Got a mate to help me jump start it, and it ran no problems at all on the alternator. While running on idle, i turned the interior light on and the light was flickering, but if I held it at 2k rpm, the light was fine.
Is that a sign of a dead battery, or a dodgy alternator/voltage regulator?
I just want to make sure before I buy a new battery tomorrow.
Cheers!

I'd say battery mate. Can you borrow one off someone for a few hours?

I'm just about to go up to Halfords now, so I'll check the battery with a multimeter when its off and when the alternator is running, hopefully the reading is higher!
If not, I'm not sure. I'll update later on
