firstly does anyone know the code for this engine? this looks the same as a x12xe engine only its got a black cover instead of silver alloy. will it be a really easy converstion? i know the 1.4 has a electronic throttle, can i put all this into my corsa b with the ecu too?

i think that your corsa b is runing a cable thorttle and there for one would onr to be changed but i think there is more to it then just one out one in think you need the clocks and the ecu from the corsa d engine and maybe more, they use alot more electrics then the oder engines

i might have to give it a miss then. my car is absolutly mint condition for a v reg but just very slow so i think it deserves a better engine but dont want a 2ltr cos of the fuel prices!

would that be easier? my mate has a 1600 sport and that sounds ace at 6k. would i have to have the air con fitted too? as there is loads more crap under the dash on a corsa b with air con. how much can i pick one up for?

You'd be better selling the 1.2 and just buying a 1.6 Sport.

A few people on here who have converted from 1.6 to 2.0 have said their 2.0 engines use less fuel than the 1.6

I think thats standard 16xe swapped for standard 20xe (maybe air filters were uprated but nothing major)
IIRC its because you dont need to rev the 20xe as ahrd as the 16xe to get the speed out of it
