i know its a corsa forum but i also know you guys know alot, so heres my mates problem, whenever he starts the car from cold it wants to die unless he revs it?? but after hes keep it running for abit by revving it its ok??? any ideas

Sounds like a coolant temp sensor problem if its only happening when cold.

Hmm, right, so it's running too lean (i.e not enough fuel) when it's first started, under most circumstances then?
just when you said from Cold, i'd still try the CTS, try disconnecting it and see if it makes any difference (this isn't long term advice, just gives you a chance to see it causes any problem - the ECU will revert to a basic map to compensate for it in most instances)
Also, note, I come from a Renault/GM background when it comes to tech work on cars - so my advice may not be perfect for this case - still try it anyway, it wont do any harm.
