right its a 1.4 sri 16v, thats a x14xe right??
currently cammed and chipped, thinking on taking it a bit further, was looking into inlet manifolds, a few people have said the ebay ones are adequete
looking into getting the head redone, port and polished, the valves done and get it skimmed
also looked into a boost valve.
i know yous get this all the time
but what would i be running now : x14xe, fast road cams, chipped, 4 branch manifold, sport cat, stainless system, pipercross filter ???
and what would i be running, if the head was done ported polished, chipped camed, valves, skimmed, manifold, sport cat, stainless system, pipercross filter, boost valve, inlet manifold and appropriate mapping for everything???
anyone could tel me or make and aquarate quess that would be great

You have all that and no inlet manifold
Inlet is the first thing to change

To be honest......bin it, fit bigger engine.
XE conversion would cost you less, and be quicker.

Semi accurate guesses.........as said, an aftermarket inlet would make more difference to the drive than you have done already.
looking into getting the head redone, port and polished, the valves done and get it skimmed - £400
also looked into a boost valve - Pointless
i know yous get this all the time
but what would i be running now : x14xe, fast road cams, chipped, 4 branch manifold, sport cat, stainless system, pipercross filter ??? 100-105 if your lucky
and what would i be running, if the head was done ported polished, chipped camed, valves, skimmed, manifold, sport cat, stainless system, pipercross filter, boost valve, inlet manifold and appropriate mapping for everything??? 130ish

so what about a 1.6 head, would this fit the 1,4 bottom end or is the 1400 different piston etc??

Not too sure to be honest.
I don't know if the pistons are different sizes.

dam, so rather than take a 1.4 to a high spec, it would be just as easy to do it to a 1.6 would it not, same mounts ?? shafts??, i've already got gsi disks and calipers so brakes wont mater

Better, fit a 1.6 block, 1.8 pistons and cranksfhat plus inlet and map and you get 150 to 160 bhp with lots of low down torque

iirc a 1.6 head will fit but isnt really worth it as they are essentially the same. only difference is the port sizes which is minimal and would be sorted if you were having it ported and polished.
Someone correct me if I am wrong

so i was thinking, 1.6 , everyone says the gsi is better, but would the sport not be beter as its newer, not much bhp difference is there??
so if i got a 1.6 sport engine, whats the difference with management and wiring ??
1.8 cranks and pistons, from a vectra 1.8 i take it?? would that be a straight swap into the 1600??
will my cams i have in the 1.4 fit into the 1.6??
anyone could sort out these uncertanties would be awesome

(1) There is about 3 bhp difference i think.
(2) x14xe is same wiring and the same ecu can be used but better to use an x16xe
(3) 1.8 pistons ect can be taken from any z18xe engine. corsa Sri ect.. would need the block bored out to suit the bigger pistons and maybe more work. head machined to match aswell I think.
(4) 1.4 cams will fit into a 1.6
