i had an accident on wednesday night i was reversing out of a space, cars where coming past so waited with reverse lights on, next and my mate parked up at the side of me on a funny angle (didnt know he was there) i then carried on reversing out of my space and caught his rear quarter panel with my tyre only pushed it in could be pushed back out. damage is not too bad but tried to get it repaired for him but wants to go through insurance what do i need to do?

If you're going to go through insurence i'd say the first thing would be to report it to your insurence company....but before that try and talk him into sorting it outside insurence again

tried he wants too much and not being fair for a small accident. end of the day its a p reg corsa the insurance will just right it off

I'd say first step would be contact your insurence company, even if thats not the right thing to do, they will be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck with it mate

Tell your mate to fuck off. If you claim you'll loose all your NCB. Is he just looking for an excuse to get it written off? Refuse to go through insurance, and if he gets all legal on you, say there's no proof you did it.

If so let the insurance know that it was on private land therefore insurance doesnt cover it iirc

You'll loose two years NCD and have a naturally higher premium due to having a claim history.
Though some people are silly enough to claim for sumin as wingmirrors being hit off.......
I say just get him to a reputable bodyshop, get it quoted for the repairs on "just what you done" not anyother bits "while it's there" and pay up, much easier and in long run cheaper.
And his premium will go up anyway due to being involved in a claim too so he won't win then!
