Currently selling my systers Mazda, but as it has short MOT no one buys it.
So i am thinking of putting it through MOT, but it looks way too rusty under the car(though solid). I am going to paint bottom of the car with hammerite black paint. did so in my previous car and looked v. nice
the thing i am not sure about is how can i prevent rust coming through the paint(spray can paint). there are some parts that need to be painted nicely so hammerite is not good. and in my experience rust comes through! tried hammerite hammerite primer, which didnt work, some rust protection(brown stuff). rust came through anything even though the surface was cleaned to a bare metal.
anything u would advise on using?

Once rust has taken it will never go unless you cut it out and weld in new pannels, as for painting it waist off time imo it will just come back through,if your talking about underneath the floor best thing to do is underseal it but only if its solid metal

chip, scrape and sand it back to metal then use "Kurust" treatment. Few coats of that and then underseal should do the trick. If you just hide it via underseal without treatment you will probably have some angry mob banging at your door a month or so down the line.....

But it depends on how serious the rust is, if you can poke a screw driver through it that would need what B3KAN said
