My first real website...

www.infinity-beyond.co.uk

I am studying graphic design: new media at uni, we are mainly learning the graphics side of things, generally someone else would do the coding but I enjoyed it. I went for a very subtle design, its got some random crap on there at the mo for our last brief but im going to work on it more with some flash and make a portfolio page for myself. Any comments?

Nerds that use text only web browsers such as Lynx will love your website.

That's one of the better designed sites i've seen posted on here recently.

No stupid flash or trying to be too fancy

like that alphabet project, better than the shit projects i got given when i did graphic design at college!

Like the simplicity of the site, but think it would look better with some sort of colour incorporated, like a subtlel red or something, even if the text changes red when you hovered over the link

Dont know if anyone bothered to look into the CSS. It does need a seperate sheet but havent been bothered so far. Anyway I have experimented with coloured backgrounds, its getting a revamp very soon in flash.
I also reckon I need to turn the logo at least into an image because only mac users really will see it in helvetica.

Cheers for the feedback.

Don't do it in Flash. PLEASE!

BTW, I'm a Flash hater, if you didn't know
You can do so much with a few styles, some little graphics and even a bit of Javascript. The most elegant sites are all done this way...

Agree with ed, don't go flash, keep it the sort of style it is just now, flash sucks balls.

Flash is pointless - some companies do not allow plugins such as Flash player to be installed on user's web browsers, so if your website was just in Flash, they would be looking at a blank screen!

I agree with everything you are saying, its required as part of our project though! Will probably revert to the old style once its finish with a few adjustments.
