Author getting rid of virus/spyware

Downloaded a PDF file yesterday and its put a load of spyware on my computer and a trogan something or other. Now it doesnt let me do anything without norton security having a heart attack

Tried removing it with norton and it said it did but im still getting alerts and it wont let me use the net


whats the best thing to do?

There's tons more, but I use these the most. Look for AVG, Avast or Avira desktop(download just 1) and also Spybot S+D, fuck norton off as its as usefull as a ventilated condom, run said programs and see if that helps.

Just delete temp files, and install what danny's said. AVG or spybot.

Norton is shit.

Don't do a system recovery to a previous date though.

ok deleated all of the dodgy bits that the spyware program found. Everything is working again but windows is still popping up ballons to say there is an infection still
