just fitted a new inlet manifold and found the car to be much better, it also pulls harder when it gets to around 5,000 revs, where as before you could feel it pull from around 4,000 revs, i like the way it pulls now but seems to be to high in the revs as it hits the limiter and feels like it could still keep pulling, has anyone else found this ?
thanks

This is widely reported among the Inlet users.
Most recommend you get the rev limit raised now.

7200 is probably the best to go for to see the gains, and its still sorta safe for the engine.. its only being raised about 800rpm so nothing to worrie about

You WILL need ARP rod bolts if you raise the limter to 7.2k. I'm sure you dont want a rod through the block...

the arp bolts wont snap from the vibration of the engine, make the engine more reliable then

"Should" be fine at 7200rpm in short bursts with standard bolts imo.
Above that though, or revving hard for a long time and definently fit arp's

To be fair though for the price of a replacement block. There only worth it if the bottom end has had work done

For the sake of £60 it isn't really worth the risk, is it?

Plus, if you're revving to 7.2k in 4th, 5th it'll be at 6,500rpm - 7,200rpm for quite a long time!!

How hard is it to fit the ARP's bolts, as ive got one of the said inlets, and am considering raising the limiter to 7500.

Ran mine to 7300 for about 2 years and never had a problem on standard bolts. Not saying ARPs are a bad idea but they are not a must. If they are not astraight swap I wouldnt bother, the chance of standard ones failing is quite small IMO and even if you were VERY unlucky the engines are cheap enough

A unichip lets the tuner set the rev limit to whatever you like but its about £500 by the time youve had it mapped. other than that a superchip also raises the limit but not sure what to

if you can get hold of the cd that comes with the dbilas inlet that raises your limiter.

They come with a CD?
So you mean it has software on it for raising the rev limiter, via the diagnostics port?
