They won't be much cheaper in january, most shops already have them at rock bottom prices.

Good point John

M2RTY - my dad swears by 5 year warranties, but can you honestly say you are going to keep a TV for 5 years? This applies to my dad anyway - when a new technology comes out and starts getting cheaper he cant sleep till he has it, so whats the point in going for a 5 year?

Costco has a 5 year warranty.

Unless you get John Lewis to pricematch or they have a deal on the extra you pay normally far outweighs the 5 year warranty.

I work at Currys, and the prices on TV's has steadily been going up.

We were told to remove all posters saying 'Cheapest TV's' etc etc as we were no longer the cheapest.

You'll find that most stores will pricematch anyway so, as much as i hate when customers do it, haggle.

+1 for Costco, Amazon can also do some good deals on particular models.
