Right, I downloaded Opera to use as a web browser after all the dibacle about IE being unsafe. I'm very happy with it.
Now all of a sudden, IE keeps throwing up random pop ups to random sites like Barclays, or other "official" sites and not what you'd expect a pop up to look like, eg. porn, free ringtonez, etc.
I've done a spyware search and it came up with one problem, a cookie tracker...so i dont think its related to the pop ups.
Whats going on and how do i stop it?

If it's IE throwing up the popups, that'll be because you've not set Opera as your default browser.
I'd use Google Chrome tbh (sarky version).

I've set my default browser as Opera...It prompted me to do it when I first opened it. Very odd.
I think IE is being arsey because I'm not using it anymore
