its a 1.4 16v sport (w reg - 2000) Basically it starts up first time every time. the engine isnt rocking or anything, ecu light isnt on. but its:
lost loads of power so basically you can hardly drive it
smokes quite a bit
Doesnt want to get past 3000 revs, stutters n splutters.
Its overfuelling big time, stinks of petrol.
sounds horrible lol.
Im thinking it may be a sensor.
Anybody have any ideas? as I cant drive it until its corrected.
Thank you,
Greg

try ALL the vacuum pipes ...they tend to go brittle/break...seen a few on vectra's and corsa's go the same way and give the same symptoms....
just a thought !

worth a try mate, thanks.
If it helps, I bought a straight through pipe with a decat welded on, put that on for a day but it didnt take to it well and it gradually got worse until this happened, ive put the standard exhaust and cat back on with a stainless back box like I used to have and its not changed.
Wish I hadnt put the straight through on now

Would be my first guess. Reseting the ECU won't do anything.

after resetting the ecu .....connect battery up....start it up but..DO NOT throttle it as it will settle itself out after coughing spluttering for a little while.......
