i was driving down the road today to find that my track rod end had jumped out of its hole because it had no nut on the bottom of it...

grrrrrrr

i now have the nut... but when i attempt to put it on... the bolt just spins and spins.... and there is no 'head' to grab so it doesnt spin...

if that makes sense...

any help would be greatly appreciated as i need the car to go to work tomorrow! lol..

thank you in advance

The best way i find is to use the big jaw pliers that you would use to push the piston back in a caliper. Hold the trackrod to where it bolts to and tighten the nut up

I usually hit the top of the TRE so it fits tighter into the hole then use a G clamp to clamp it down whilst tightening the nut slowly with a spanne, Not a rachet.

leaver on the top off the track rod end with a big lever bar to put pressure on it or use a bit set of water pump pliers
