hi. Thinking of doing a turbo conversion on a x16xe engine. just want to know if low compression pistons need to be fitted and what sort of work is involved

Cheers

You'd be able to use standard pistons if your only going to run low boost, maybe 5psi, sort of defeats the idea of doing a turbo conversion tho

Ideally low compression forged pistons or you can use a de-compression plate on standard pistons, if you chose the latter you still will be boost limited by the pistons.

C20LET conversion would be cheaper if you was going to do it properly...

If going for 1.6T route go for low comp pistons, save the hassle in the long run, and whilst your there strengthen the engine IE steel Head Gasket etc

your mum wont let you have a more reliable 2.0 conversion which would be cheaper. but she will let you spunk 3 grand on turbo'ing a 1.6?

Your mum needs educating, and you need to grow some balls to do as you please. Your mum wouldnt tell a turbo from and water pump so how will she know its a 2.0?
