Guys,
GF car went awal yesterday.
She took it for a car wash, and on the way home the car cut out the electrics went wild. Lights flashing hazards going off, All the MFD reset, and the car refused to fire up.
I assumed it was an earthing problem, so used a jump lead from the earth terminal on the battery and earthed it to car body and the car fired first time, and now is running sweet again.
Would any one suggest looking at anything that could be shorting out. or do you think it was just coincidence that the water from the car wash shorted some thing?
I don’t want this to happen again, or anything catch fire.
Any comments welcome. thanks

i'm not sure then tbh mate, sorry.
My car did something very similar the other day, driving it to the boyfriends house and pulled up, turned the car off, left side lights on. Went to start the car again but it wouldnt turn on with the lights on, was so strange, turns out it was my coil just needed cleaning. but in your case its slightly different
