Got a DVD of wedding photographs, which they've made into a proper dvd, audio_ts and video_ts and want to rip it to get the photos, any ideas?

You'd have to take a screenshot of every one.
They'll also be low resolution, only way to do it is to pay for pictures from the photographer.

Arse, was hoping if i decode the DVD it'd put them back to what they originally were, e.g. jpegs

Just scanning through the DVD and they've all been pasted with copyright etc. Damn those crafty photographers trying to make money for themselves 
It's really shit presentation, 477 photos, and you have to view them on loop, 62min runtime, and they all seem to zoom fade etc... There's only a couple that i wanted, but not gonna sit through an hour of photos to find them

I did this for someone at work (for £20  ) and just used VLC player.

VLC is really good for screen shots but for 477 photo's fuck that

Just get a screen shot application that saves the JPG and sit there hitting PRNT SCRN for an hour. Long, but the only way.
...or you could just pay for them. That is how he makes a living, after all.

Rip the video and use VirtualDub to rip each frame to an image. You'd be able to get the ones you want out and delete the rest.
