I don't know about different makes etc, however for price I found amazon the cheapest.
Might not be any use, however I would have never thought to look on there is I wouldn't have been told.

got one from costco for 36 quid, does a good job. that's a vogel.
oh and that fits up to 50'' i believe, mines a 42'' so obviously it will be cheaper if you go for a smaller bracket.

This is the one i'm considering:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vogels-Original-VFW-426-wall-mountable/dp/B000GJGR34/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1238602200&sr=1-1
However i'm thinking it might be best for go for one that can take a bigger panel incase I want to get a new bigger TV.

The rents have the bigger version of that in their bedroom, not had any complaints about it.

i just got a cheap ass one from ebay, seriously its a few pieces of metal bolted toghether to hold a tv in place, brand names ect really dont make any difference.
mines lasted me 3 years and has had 3 different tvs on, currently holds a 42inch sharp, it was about 20 quid 3 years ago.

Had a couple of Vogels and the quality is really good but some of the cheaper alternatives seem just as solid and I doubt there is anything in it apart from brand name and prices. Just pick a style and suitable size you want and get it
Something like this black or silver - £60 delivered?

£33 etc..
Ebay

You do get what you pay for to an extent but dont pay over the top, but on the other hand dont get some cheap thing for £9.99!
Brand names are generally better, you can rest assured it has been tested with various loads and is certified etc..
I install TVs for a living and have come across almost every type of bracket, some good, some shite.
Cheap ones look okay in the pics but when you compare them you do see where your money goes.
I tend to use B-Tech brackets, they're cheap, strong and they work.
What is the wall construction that the TV is being mounted to? Many small cantilever brackets use a very narrow fixing strip that you may struggle to get a decent fixing in on some walls. Just bear this in mind when looking.

Yep I likes the B-Tech ones. My monitor is on a single arm one now
