I upgraded from 2gB to 3gB RAM and my WEI stayed the same. I then upgraded from 3gB to 4gb (3.53gB on Vista) and now my WEI has dropped to 2.8 on the RAM section.
It was 800mhz RAM and the other stick is 667mhz, but it's the same make and everything.
What's wrong?

It'll all be running at 667 mhz now, which could also make the proc run slightly slower depending how it's set up.

Yeah, I know it runs at the slowest speed but as standard the two original 1gB sticks were 667mhz...

Ahh, it may be taking longer to access the memory because there's more of it, even with the same make there can be different types of chips, don't see it being much more than that.

Get hold of two matching 2GB sticks and you'll notice the difference over now.

Play had a 667mhz stick, and then they got a 800mhz stick for the same price. Everyone I asked said the 1520 can only see 667mhz so the 800mhz makes no difference...

^^ indeed.
Also, what processor do you have? your ram needs to match your processor bus speed, or be an equal multiple.

Latency etc will be making little to no difference in photoshop which I think he uses this for.

Yip, which won't be noticeable at all in anything.

Just max out the box with matching chips. RAM is cheap at the minute. By the time you have the cash for your old RAM it's cost you what, the price of a takeaway.
