if i put a meter in its £100 + whatever water I use
Average bill for 1 person is £200 a year
Worth doing or not?

dunno lol but everybody told me before i bought my house water meters were expensive, and we pay less than all my family not on them so go figure lol..........
i have a bath everyday filled to the top, and mrs has 45 minute showers lol and the washing machine goin 500 times a day so we are not careful and we pay 29quid a month and my last statement showed we are 78 quid in credit
this based on 2 adults in 3 bed semi with bathroom and downstairs toilet

they do work out cheaper in most case, you do have to be careful though, stick a brick in your toilet cistern

I thought that if you choose to have one, then you have upto 1 year to decide whether you want to keep it or you can have it taken out?

Thats true BlueCorsa, I think though if he was to sell the property before 12 months the new owner couldnt take up this clause or something? So it may put off a buyer.
Ive just moved into a new build that obv has water meter, I will be interested to see my statements considering I paid £335 or something last year non-metered

if yo revert back in 12 months, they leave it in and charge you on the fixed rate
If you sell the house, regardless of when, the new owner must use the metre, they don't take it back out
this is my understanding
thanks
