one out the bottom goes to the fuel return, one into the side is from the fuel rail.
i really wouldnt bother fitting it.

I thought these were only really of use when you have mapable management?
Most people i've spoke to said it's a waste of time on fairly standard XE's.

Why's it too high though? Is the engine standard?

If it's a dizzy then it should be a 2.5 like you say.
Has it definitely got a 3 bar fitted? Why not fit a standard 2.5 bar reg? You can pick them up cheap.

But if you have a 3 bar reg then that's what pressure you will be getting as it's governed by the regulator.
If you put a 2.5 bar reg on then the pressure should be at 2.5.

I'm confused. You originally had a 3 bar fpr? If you had a 3 bar reg then the pressure will be too high as the fpr is what governs your fuel pressure.
Your engine should be 2.5 bar like mine. If the pressure is high then you have a problem which is likely a faulty fpr.
I'd sell the adjustable one buy a 2.5 reg for pennies and save some cash, But that's just me
