Textthanks for takin a look basically i brought a 1.2 corsa and also a 1.6 gsi corsaq engine
did the change at the weekend stil didnt get it running on sunday so went back to it today still no fire but banging and popping but i checked earts and wiring its all fine just cant see the problem im thinking it may be crank sensor or the chip iun the key going to try these tommorow but just wondered if anyone knew wat else it cud be

when I done my let change I couldn't get mine to fire for 2 days so I went over my harness again and again and what it was was the injecter plugs even though I pushed and pushed it just needed an extra click so it must of been catching on somthing. Just worth a try m8 it's always somthing simple it's just finding it ;-)

checked all that its firing and kicking up but cuts out straght away now myt be ecu any ideas

is the engine management light flashing?
Did you use the ECU, Key Chip and Transponder ring around the ignition barel of the GSI?

management light not flashing yea got the ecu from the gsi and the key and it still has standard ring around barrel but have the other one?

use the one from the gsi. ECU, key and Transponder ring all need to match up mate.

done that mate still starting and cutting out straight away, nt sure wats happening could it be the transponder in my old key thats cutting it out?

Sounds like immobiliser to me, EML should be on and flashing though. Have you wired the management light up?
Put the chip from the gsi key into the key that fits the ignition barel.

ivce tried that but the key i got for my ignition barrel is sealed not gud at all dont know how wire that up lol

are you using the ecu, transponder and chip from the gsi engine? plug leads on right way?

can i just offer a silly suggestion, i did a head gasket on a rover, n in my haste i got the piston numbers backwards so when it was trying to start on 1, i had it plugged into 4, try reversing the leads?
